Ginny's Story

I was married, but divorced now since 2000. Unfortunately I made some bad choices in who I chose to marry and now I am single again. I have become picky in my "old" age. I have 2 grown sons that are the loves of my life, they are 35 and 33. Both have made good lives for themselves. Neither have children. I have a chocolate lab Bailey, he is the love of my life along with my cat Chloe. My mom (if anyone remembered her), passed from cancer last year. My granny now lives with me. She is 89 and it's not easy. My oldest son Brandon is married to a nurse and they just built a home. He is in Nebraska, about 3 hours north of me. He was in the Air Force, got out but still doing his same job. He is very opinionated and intelligent, yet funny and humorous. He has a big heart. He loves to read! I am very proud of him. My youngest is Ryan, he is 33 and lives in Westerville, Ohio. They are moving soon as him and his girlfriend just bought a new home. He is a National powerlifter who has broke many records. He faithfully works out at the gym and loves competing. He wants to make the World's Team someday. He works a lot, he drives for Sherman Williams. I am probably closest to him and we talk several times a week on the phone. Both my sons are very honest and decent people. I am proud and very blessed to have them in my life. They have done well. My dog Bailey is a 96 pound chocolate lab that thinks he is human. I have a red BMW 330ci convertible and I love it, it's paid for! The BMW is Bailey's vehicle too. He rides with his head out the window or if the top is down, it makes for a good laugh and stare! He has Doggles that he wears! I turned 53 this year. I have several close friends who I keep in touch with. We try to get together several times a month for dinner, drinks and great shopping in Kansas City at The Plaza or Legends. As an adult, I am very outgoing, funny, honest and straight forward. Sometimes honest to a fault, at times people can't handle the truth. For the most part I enjoy life and try to make the best of the things. Both my parents are gone now. My sister and family are in Illinois and my brother still in Springfield. I'm not close to either. When my mom was alive, she remarried a military man. I visited England in the fall of 2003, while my mom was stationed there. I got to ride the subway into London. It was amazing. A whole different world over there. A trip I will never forget. There are some things that I wish I could change about my life, but then again....all those things made me the person I am today and I like who I am. My actor crush is Gale Morgan Harold III, he played Brian Kinney in Queer as Folk. My rock star crush is Nikki Sixx, no explanation needed! I still enjoy a good concert, my last was Motley Crue, drove to Nebraska and Brandon and I went to see it! It saddens me that South High is no longer there. At least the building is and you now have the John Legend theater. I get back that way from time to time and visit, I try to see people and visit. I posted a "then" photo, it is when I was 16-17 in high school. I really don't think I have changed that much since high school, but again we all look different in each other's eyes. I am happy with me, I can't be anyone else. I went to college for 4 1/2 years and am...Expand for more
a registered nurse now for 21 years. I have done all kind of nursing and traveled. I am a big vintage and antique lover, I love old and primitive things. Hope to maybe be married again someday, it's hard meeting good people and I'm kind of set in my ways. Feel free to contact me. Also a note, for anyone who may know anything about a reunion being planned for South High School class of 1981, please contact me. I would love to hear from anyone from the past and I would love to attend. Be Safe, Be Well and Be Happy. (Jeepbeepbeep) at the AOL, would love to hear from you. School I look back now and wished that I would have listened more, paid attention to the importance of what I was there for and been involved more in school and the things around me. I thought I knew everything, but obviously I didn't...it's funny that we really should listen to our parents as what they said then is so true now. I miss my high school days and wish I could some how go back and do some of them over. I still remember those popular guys I just wished I could have went out with and my biggest wish was that I could have went to my prom. I am now 43 and life itself has been my teacher. I miss my art class, doing projects. I loved being on the drill team and the fact that all my friends were on it too. That year was a year to remember. Isn't youth fun? Although I didn't realize it then, those were some of the best years of my life. I smile when I think back to the silly times, skipping class to go to Fred's Market on the corner of Selma Rd, sneaking beer, football and basketball games. The "rich" crowd always having everything, the "best" cars. Chevelles, Nova's, Camaro's and Firebirds.....Varoom! How about McDonald's on Friday night after the game? I also got to watch the school "transform" from old to new, from '78-'81. I will always have those memories. College I graduated from Clark State Community College in 1995 with a degree in Nursing. I love my field, but it has it's moments. Nursing for the greatest part has been rewarding and my education has been well used. My specialty is Psych nursing, which I have done a lot of. I recently accepted a new position with a beautiful facility as Charge Nurse on a long term care unit. I just go with the flow and take it one day at a time. I have been out of school almost 12 years and it's hard to believe how fast the time has went. I wish that I could have kept in touch with my friends and classmates from college as there are a lot of memories I cherish and good times remembered. Contact me through AOL, screen name is Jeepbeepbeep. Would love to hear from you. Workplace I enjoy my position as a Charge Nurse in a brand new subacute unit for a beautiful facility only 20 minutes from my home. I work Mon-Fri. 6-2, off weekends and holidays. I love the new things that I learn everyday and the challenges that are given to me. My residents are a joy and I love to listen to the many stories they have to tell. I have thus enjoyed my life as a nurse. To make a difference in just one person's life is worth it all. Starting in a new position is scarey, but I am thankful for the opportunity and the wonderful people I work with. Nursing has been very fulfilling for me and I can't think of anything else I would want to do.
